In 2014, we were approached by Woodford Reserve to evolve its brand identity and redesign the packaging for its portfolio. One of the fastest-growing bourbon brands in the world, Woodford Reserve first entered the super-premium whiskey category in 1996 with a perfectly balanced bourbon and a breakthrough package design. We were commissioned to reinforce its position as a global industry leader in brand and packaging design and to more clearly articulate Woodford Reserve's value proposition through portfolio distinction.
The evolved Woodford Reserve visual brand language includes a refined logotype and color palette, iconography depicting the distilling process, and illustrations. The redesigned packaging for Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon and Rye Whiskeys, alongside Double Oaked Bourbon, features new closures and labeling treatments. It also features new bottle structures crafted by industrial design firm Essential Design. The design of the limited release 2016 Master's Collection Brandy Cask Finish features new labeling treatments as well.
