In 2014, we were approached by Woodford Reserve to evolve its brand identity and redesign the packaging for its portfolio. One of the fastest-growing bourbon brands in the world, Woodford Reserve first entered the super-premium whiskey category in 1996 with a perfectly balanced bourbon and a breakthrough package design. We were commissioned to reinforce its position as a global industry leader in brand and packaging design and to more clearly articulate Woodford Reserve's value proposition through portfolio distinction.
The evolved Woodford Reserve brand language includes a refined logotype and color palette, iconography depicting the distilling process, and illustrations. The redesigned packaging system for Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon and Rye whiskeys, alongside Double Oaked Bourbon, features a new bottle structure, closure, and labeling treatments. The 2016 edition of limited release Master's Collection whiskey features new labeling treatments, as well.
